CITYarts Peace Wall Mural in Minneapolis

Launched in 2004, CITYarts’ Pieces for Peace program invites youth ages 12–20 from across the U.S. and around the world to share their visions for a more peaceful future—and bring those ideas to life through art. The initiative aims to create a Peace Wall in every state, and Minnesota is set to become home to the 8th mural.

In collaboration with local artist Megan Moore, we are currently leading Pieces for Peace workshops in Twin Cities middle and high schools, where students are developing the concepts that will inspire this mural. See examples of students' art from the workshops here.

We are seeking a publicly visible outdoor wall, approximately 30–60 feet in length, to host this student-created, peace-themed mural in summer 2026. All project costs will be fully covered by CITYarts.

If you’re a student interested in joining the mural team, or a business or community leader interested in hosting the mural, we’d love to hear from you.
